If you have oily skin , you may already be well aware of the skin benefits of clay masks. But did you know that Clay Face Masks can benefit any skin type? Yes, it’s true! Clay is an amazing skin care ingredient that’s been used by ancient civilisations for centuries, and today, one of the best ways to utilise its powers is by using a clay face mask. In addition to this since our Masks are rich in natural minerals they oxygenate, nourish and tighten the skin giving it a smooth and youthful radiant complexion.

Here are the top benefits of Nature Bathing's Natural  Clay Masks. You’re going to want to add one  to your Skin Care Routine.

Drawing out impurities like dirt, oil, pollution, and others that can build up on the surface of your skin throughout the day, leaving your skin feeling rough, not to mention making your pores appear larger. Dead skin cells also accumulate on the skin’s surface and, if they aren’t properly sloughed away, can lead to breakouts. That’s why it’s important to exfoliate regularly and deep clean your skin to remove any build-up that may be lingering on your skin. A clay mask can help draw out the build-up of these impurities to give you skin that feels clean and pure.

If your complexion is looking kind of dull these days, it’s time to look on the bright side: there’s a clay mask you can use for that! Overall skin dullness is often a result of lack of proper exfoliation and skin maintenance, but using a clay mask for just 10 minutes a few times a week can help keep your complexion looking fresh and bright. If dullness is your main skin concern, consider using a clay mask that also contains Activated Charcoal.

If you have oily skin, a clay mask can help mattify the appearance of your complexion for a shine-free look. And isn’t that the ultimate skin care goal for oily skin?

Harsh dry weather conditions can leave your complexion feeling extra sensitive and stressed out. As a result, skin needs cleaning that is effective yet gentle. The right clay mask will cleanse skin gently without causing any irritation, and it’ll leave your skin looking hydrated and feeling soothed.

Some of us just have pores that are naturally larger than others. If refining your pores is a primary skin care concern for you, using a clay mask can really help to tone things up. When pores are refined, your skin tone will appear more even and your complexion will look smoother.

Letting dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and debris build up on the surface of your skin for too long will lead to breakouts. Using a clay mask two or three times a week to slough away dead skin cells and purify your skin of excess oil and dirt can work wonders in helping to keep your complexion under control.

If you have Combination Skin, using a clay mask can help balance your skin and, not leave it overly dry or irritated.

Once you have your clay mask of choice in hand and are ready to go, it’s time to apply. Follow these instructions to apply your mask and remove it with no mess. Your skin will be glowing in no time!

Before putting on your clay mask, cleanse your complexion to help remove dirt, oils, and makeup from the surface of your skin. Use one of our Natural handcrafted Face Wash Bars. Each of these cleanses without drying out your skin. Starting with a clean base will help the clay masks reach their maximum level of effectiveness.

Start with a small amount of the mask powder (about 1tsp.) and mix with about ½ tsp of desired liquid until you reach your desired consistency. It’s best to start with less liquid and add more as needed.
Apply a thin even layer of the Mask paste to clean face with an applicator brush or with clean fingers.

Take this time to sit back and relax! Close your eyes and listen to your favourite playlist while you leave your clay mask on for 10-15 minutes.

By now the mask should feel firm on your skin—and that means it is time to take it off! Wet a washcloth with lukewarm water and gently wipe the clay mask off of your face in circular motions or Remove by rinsing with warm water. Be sure to get all of the clay mask, not missing your hairline, eyebrows, and nostrils.

Once you’ve made sure all of the clay mask has been removed, take a clean, dry towel and lightly blot your skin until it’s just slightly damp. You and your skin should feel rejuvenated and revived.

Follow with a swipe of Toner on a cotton pad. Apply your favourite hydrating serum from our range of Natural Face Serums. Apply two to three drops, wait a few minutes, and then apply a light moisturiser if required. This will complement all the work the clay mask did, leaving you with a hydrated, healthy complexion.

The best part about this whole process? You get to do it again! For best results use our Masks 2-3 times per week, depending on your skin type (1-2 times for dry skin and 2-3 times for oily skin), to detoxify and decongest the pores, while simultaneously soothing and nourishing the skin. So go ahead and treat yourself to using one again and again. Making a clay mask part of your consistent skin care routine will keep your pores clean and help address various skin concerns from large pores to dry spots. Pro tip: Use it daily on trouble spots, or weekly as part of a complete facial treatment. For dry skin use 1-2 times a week, try mixing with honey, milk, rose water or chamomile tea
For combination/oily skin, use 2-3 times a week, try mixing with honey, green tea or diluted apple cider vinegar

You should aim to use a clay mask two to three times per week, every week, in order to get the best results. The best practice is to apply your face mask onto freshly-cleansed skin.
